Description

Antique dome top steamer trunk dating to the late 19th–early 20th century, circa 1890–1910. This example features a curved lid with alternating wood slats and metal panels, decorative pressed metal strapwork, and inset green metal panels to the exterior. The trunk retains its original mixed-material construction with visible hand-applied hardware and period fasteners.

The interior is fully paper-lined with original patterned paper and visible period trade graphics to the base and lid interior. Interior compartments remain intact. Original latch and lock hardware are present; no key. The exterior shows age-appropriate wear including surface scratches, oxidation to metal, small dents, and areas of finish loss consistent with authentic use and age. No major structural issues observed.

A strong decorative and functional antique suitable for use as a blanket chest, storage trunk, in traditional, historic, or eclectic interiors.
