The trunk displays a classic arched (barrel) lid, a form designed to help shed water during rail and steamship travel. The exterior panels are finished in a textured floral-embossed leatherette, a popular decorative and durable material used on quality trunks during this period. Wood slats and metal edge bands provide structural strength, while decorative hardware accents the lid and corners.

Inside, the trunk retains its original light-colored paper lining, with expected age-related wear and cracking. No interior tray is present. The lid opens and closes properly, and the form remains solid.
